In 2023, HUJPN will inaugurate its Fellowship Unit. Through organizing forum events in its first year, we realized its goal of facilitating a stronger connection between the leading figures in Japanese policy-making and the students who would follow in their footsteps. The HUJPN Fellowship Program would not only be a fruitful learning opportunity for undergraduate students to engage with the current leading figures on the topics of their interests but also provide opportunities for the professionals to gain interest from the students.
The Fellowship Unit will work on launching the first stage of the program in 2023-24. The Unit will engage with the affiliated scholars of the institutions such as the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies. Beyond engagement in the forum events, the Fellowship Program will organize closer networking opportunities with the scholars to the select group of students. The Fellowship Unit will plan for the future expansion of the program, such as providing research opportunities with mentorship from the affiliated scholars and professionals for the Harvard undergraduates.
